Another school year is on the horizon for thousands of Philadelphia’s school students, and the Free Library has the resources they need to achieve great things in and out of the classroom. Offered four days a week at 53 neighborhood libraries, the Literacy Enrichment Afterschool Program (LEAP) provides students in grades K through 12 with a safe and supportive place to go after the school day for homework help, computer access, and lively literacy-based activities. LEAP is a free, drop-in program that students can use as much or as little as they'd like. Read more about LEAP in the Free Library's Off the Shelf magazine.

In addition to great in-person resources, the Library has plenty of online resources available for students to use from the comfort of home. Homework Help Online, powered by Brainfuse, offers everything from live tutoring—in English and Spanish, from 2:00 to 11:00 p.m.—to test prep and a writing lab that helps students' essays shine. Homework Help Online provides resources for elementary to college students, and even adult learners preparing for their G.E.D. or U.S. Citizenship test, too. And the Free Library has plenty of informative online databases especially for children that can help them with research projects, too. All you need to access these extensive online resources is a Free Library card—sign up for one today!
