Beauty on the Horizon: The Art of Landscapes
Children's Literature Research Collection at Parkway Central Library
Landscapes are more than pictures—they are representations of the world around us, an artist’s interpretation of time and place. These interpretations evoke mood through medium, style, and design. Natural features like rivers and mountains are prominently displayed, and as urban development continues, artificial structures like skyscrapers and houses become a part of same landscape. Visitors are encouraged to ask themselves: “What do I see, and how does it make me feel?”
Objects featured in Beauty on the Horizon: The Art of Landscapes come from the Children’s Literature Research Collection, the Map Collection, and the Print and Picture Collection. The exhibition is located in the Second Floor West Gallery of Parkway Central Library.
