"In 1920 the Big Stick dwindled to a furled umbrella, in the hands of a blue-nosed tyrant labeled 'Prohibition.' Alcoholic beverages became illegal on January 16. The nation promptly filled with bootleggers, and an illegal still was found on the farm of the Texas Senator who wrote the 18th Amendment."
