Hand-drawn; hand-colored. In the center of the document is a leafy plant with four flowers on its sides. On top is a flower within a circle, with eight petals shaped and decorated like human faces. The entire item is framed by a decorated border.
Several closely related drawings, including one in the collection of the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center, and a bookplate made for Anna Kiensie and dated 1827, are known to exist.
Small drawings, often lacking inscriptions and referred to as bookmarks by collectors, were given by schoolmasters to their students as rewards for good behavior and scholastic accomplishments.
