Opening with David in Prayer
This opening begins the Seven Penitential Psalms. The miniature is painted by a Bruges artist known as the Master of Edward IV for a manuscript he illuminated for the English king. The border decoration filled with illusionistic flowers, plants, birds and insects on a gold background is typical of Flemish illumination at this time.
