Notes:

Opening showing calendar pages for October and November

The roundels in this opening depict the zodiac signs Scorpio and Sagitarius and the labors of the months of October and November. In the upper roundel on the verso, two men pour wine into a barrel. On the verso, a man knocks acorns from trees to feed the pigs below. An entry for St. Edmund (d. 869), the king of the East Angles, appears in the calendar for November. His feast day is celebrated on November 20. His name and other English saints in the calendar and litany suggest that the psalter may have been intended for an English audience.

This manuscript has been dated to ca. 1225-1240.
