Since its inception in 1983, Alison Bechdel's comic strip Dykes To Watch Out For has become a countercultural institution, widely anthologized and translated. Her 2006 bestselling memoir Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic was named a Best Book of the Year by Time, Entertainment Weekly, the New York Times, People, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, the Village Voice, and San Francisco Chronicle, among others.
